People Who Say They Don’t Know When the Rapture Will Happen But They Will be a Part of It!

I Don’t Know When The Rapture Will Happen, But I Know I Will Be Part Of It

I’ve heard this statement many times over the years by well-meaning Christians, and on occasion from the pulpit by preachers. This is just a silly statement and demonstrates how unfamiliar a person who makes this statement is with end-time scripture.

The rapture is a last-days event and people have been thinking we were in the last days since the beginning of the Church over 2,000 years ago. Even the Apostle Peter stated we were in the last days. When the Holy Spirit was poured out on the day of Pentecost Peter say that as a sign that the last days had arrived.

But Peter standing with the eleven lifted up his voice and said to them, “You men of Judea, all of you that dwell in Jerusalem, let this be known to you, and listen to my words. 15 For these men are not drunk as you think, for it is only the third hour of the day. 16 But this is what was spoken by the prophet Joel; 17 ‘And it shall be in the last days, says God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon people, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy and your young men shall see visions and your old men shall dream dreams. 18 And on my servants, men and women, I will pour out in those days My Spirit and they shall prophesy.'” —Acts 2:14-18

The early Church fathers wrote about it. This concept of a rapture is not a new one.

Here is a link to a an interesting paper on this very subject. It was written by David K. Hebert for his Master’s Thesis at Oral Roberts University. The paper is entitled, The Rapture Of The Church: A Doctrine Of The Early Church Or A Recent Development Of The Dispensational Movement? (CLICK HERE)

And if people truly had a grasp of the events of the end-time, especially before the rapture, they would recognize how terrible those times will be and they would or should tremble with fear and pray that they die before this event called the rapture.

Not knowing the timing of the Tribulation period and merely stating that it won’t happen to me because I’m going to be raptured out of here is ridiculous. Read When Is The Rapture? | The Reverse Approach. The Tribulation Period doesn’t start until chapter 11. All present day Christians will be dead either before the events of Revelation 6 or as a result of them. This also blends seamlessly with what happens in Revelation 7:2-4 where 144,000 men are sealed with a special seal from God. These are men from the 12 tribes of Israel.

Here’s some really interesting questions for you!

If the 144,000 who receive a special seal on their forehead in Revelation 7:2-4 are the same 144,000 mentioned in Revelation 14:1-5, then they are all men. what about all of the women and children who are saved? Do they receive a special seal as well? The 144,000 mentioned in Revelation 14 are virgins who were not defiled by women. Does everyone who gets saved after Revelation 7 get a special seal on their forehead. Is this a similar kind of seal to the one that the False Prophet requires the followers of Antichrist to get on their forehead or right hand in Revelation 13:16-17?
