Charismatic Christianity is a form of Christianity with an emphasis on the baptism of the Holy Spirit, the spiritual gifts of 1 Corinthians 12, and divine healing. Charismatic Christianity is sometimes referred to as Spirit-filled Christianity. Charismatics are generally members of churches that are not Pentecostal, but hold to many of the Pentecostal beliefs relating to the manifestation of the Holy Spirit in the life of a believer. This movement is relatively new and is believed to have started in the 1960’s. Many independent, non-denomination churches today would be considered Charismatic.
